Flying From Kathmandu To Lukla
Everest Base camp trek is an adventurous trek that starts from flying to Lukla from Kathmandu and reaching to the base of Mount Everest. It is also possible that you start your trek from Jiri.
In The Everest Base Camp Trekking, it is mostly preferred to fly from Kathmandu. Your Journey starts by riding on a twin otter plane. The airport of Lukla is considered one of the most dangerous airports for landing a plane. It is also called the airport of Mount Everest or Airport for Everest Base Camp Trekkers.
Bigger planes like Boeing cannot land so only twin otter planes are used in this airport. But People who go for trekking in Everest or trekking in Everest base camp love to go to this airport.
Day 1: Land in Lukla, and Start Your Everest Tour Along Himalayan Rivers
As soon as you land in Lukla, you can get the glimpse of the Himalayan range.
You can visit the local market in Lukla and it is recommended that you stay over at Lukla which will become an unforgettable moment in this tour to EBC, near The Highest Mountain peak in the world.
The next day you will start your trek to Phakding which is around 2,651m/8,700ft. This trek is around 3-4hours soft trek. You will come across multiple suspension bridges and will cross great Himalayan rivers. You are nearer to Mount Everest and nearer to Everest base camp.

2nd Day: Trip To Namche Bazar
On the 2nd day at The Everest Base Camp Trekking tour, you start your trip to Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazar is the hub to meet and join all people going for Everest Base Camp Trek and Mountaineering to Mount Everest.
The Namche Bazaar is situated in 3,438m/11,280 ft which take around 5-6 hours. It is the capital of the Solukhumbu District in which Mount Everest is situated. This is one of the delights of this adventure tour.
3rd Day: Trek To Tengboche
The next day your trek to Tengboche. This trek again is a mid-level trek. As the altitude rises, the body takes time to adjust to the environment.
It is highly recommended that you take proper water, diet and also maintain a good walking pace and not stress too much.
Now you reached to 3,870m/12,694ft in your EBC trekking tour.
During this trek, you have to cross wooden adventurous bridges. Again you will cross the suspension bridges. You will have amusing moments to see the local villagers swim by the river, you will also see the locals carrying heavy loads of goods and crossing the suspension bridges. This is another sight in the walking route which goes unnoticed. And now you are very nearer to the Highest Mountain of the world.
4th Day: Tengboche to Dingboche
On this day of your Everest Base Camp Trekking Tour, it takes you from Tengboche to Dingboche.
This is 4,360 m/14,300 ft or 9km trekking we are talking about.
This trek lasts for 5 – 6 hours on this day.
You will see a variety of terrain and landscapes along this route. Nature sometimes turns brown and sometimes white.
It is by the coming and melting of the snow on brown muddy grounds. Everest is therefore so much fun during this period of the tour to Everest Base Camp.
Dingboche is another place of a great view, from this place you can see the beautiful panorama view of Mount Everest.

5th Day: Dingboche to Duglha
The next destination in the Everest Base Camp Trekking tour is Dingboche to Duglha.
This place is located at 4,600 m/15,090 ft above sea level, and it takes around 4km, 3 – 4 hours to complete the walk.
This part of the Everest trek is in higher latitude so it is advised you take periodic breaks from time to time. You should also make sure you drink enough water and eat diet foods.
6th Day: Move From Duglha to Lobuche
Now you go from Duglha to Lobuche which is 4940 m/16,207 ft above the sea level which is a 4km trek.
This is a 2 – 4 hours day trek.
You can see high altitude birds and will come across yaks all throughout the trek.
You will also get to taste yak dairy products.
The important thing about Everest Base Camp Tour is Sherpas.
Sherpas are local peoples in the area. And they have been carrying heavy luggage and guides in the Everest Base Camp area, in short routes and also in long routes.
7th Day: Lobuche to Gorak Shep
Everest Base Camp has given Sherpas a source of divine livelihood for centuries.
In the next day of the journey, you go from Lobuche to Gorak Shep which is situated at 5170 m/16,961ft.
And Finally, you reach the Everest Base Camp which is situated at 5364 m/17,594 ft above sea level.
This is the lap where the mighty Mount Everest Sleeps.
The sight is accessible after 6-7 hours of trekking. You have finally reached the point where the Everest Base Camp is located, and your base camp tour ends here.
Return To Namche Bazar, and Then To Lukla, and Finally Lukla To Kathmandu
Now, you return via Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar which is 5,545m/18,192ft and move towards Pheriche at 4,288m/14,070ft above sea level. Then you reach Pheriche and return back to Namche Bazaar. Then you have to move from Namche Bazaar to Lukla, and on this day you fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla Airport.
