The Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu is the only international airport in Nepal (Till The Date). Tribhuvan International Airport is located in Kathmandu, Nepal. The Original Name of the Tribhuvan International Airport is Gauchaur Airport, it was later changed to the current name in 1964 after a long time of inauguration by King Mahendra in 1955.

Officially the airport was started in 1949, at that time Beechcraft Bonanza was landed, it was carrying an Indian Ambassador. On Feb 20, 1950, the first charter flight was made from Gauchaur (Tribhuvan International Airport) to Calcutta.
