The world is a big place. Sure, you could traverse it using the plethora of budget travel options available but, as they say, you only live once – so why not splash out and travel in style!
If you are looking to see the world in style there are many options at your disposal when it comes to flights, rail journeys and luxury cruises.
Luxury flights
In this category, you have the pick of two options: Business class versus a private jet. Both are synonymous with luxury but offer a slightly different flying experience. Business-class has become much more accessible recently due to frequent flyer programs and high-tier credit card offers. Still, nothing quite beats having your own jet so if you are travelling to an exotic destination you could always charter a private jet.
It is the most stress-free way to fly. You just pull up to your private jet, get on board and enjoy the personalised service all the way to your destination.
Private jet travel will always be more expensive than business class, however, sometimes the price differential is not as much as you may think!
Luxury trains
Many of the famous train lines are in countries that were ex-colonies of the United Kingdom, as they were great rail pioneers. For many it is the best way to get around, slowly, allowing you the chance to savour the landscapes.
There are several famous luxury train companies around the world including Rovos Rail and the Blue Train in South Africa, the Eastern and Orient Express between Thailand and Singapore, and the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express that traverses some of the most beautiful capital cities in Europe. The Orient Express is the stuff of legends and is widely considered the best luxury train journey in the world.
Luxury cruises
Among the most prestigious cruises in the world is the Queen Elizabeth 2 liner. A few years ago Six Star Cruises claimed to have launched the most expensive cruise holiday in the world. You can cruise on their ship Seven Seas Explorer. A voyage with the cruise on the “ultimate cruise and stay package,” will set travellers back a cool £1million. Yes, you read that correctly – one million.
It’s always good to dream and we hope this article has given you a flavour of the possibilities out there when it comes to luxury travel.
