In Eastern Nepal, Chinnamasta Bhagawati Temple, also called Shakhada Bhagawati and Shakhadeswori, is a highly esteemed temple and Shakti Peetha in Hindu religions of India, Nepal and throughout the world. It was established in the thirteenth century by Shaktisimhadeva, the fifth Karnata dynasty emperor. It is located in Saptari, in the Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality, near the Indian border, and about 10 km south from Rajbiraj, Saptari, Nepal.

The temple is crowded mostly from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Dashain, Dipawali, Ramnawami, and Chhath etc. are the main festivals when the temple is more crowdy than usual.

Saturday is generally the busiest day.
